The Heart of the Matter: The Path of Repentance
Repentance is not a "work" we do to earn God's love; it is a response to who God is. If you find it hard to turn your heart toward God today, consider these five aspects of His nature:
His Goodness leads you (Romans 2:5): It is God’s kindness, not just His judgment, that should make us want to change.
His Authority commands you (Acts 17:30): Repentance is not a suggestion; it is a divine mandate for all people everywhere.
His Compassion waits for you (2 Peter 3:9): God is patient. He delays His judgment because He wants to give you space to turn to Him.
His Grace grants it (Acts 11:18): Even the ability to repent is a gift of God’s grace.
His Love rejoices over you (Luke 15:7): There is more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine who think they don't need it.
Don't run from God today; run to Him.
