Two Pillars of Assurance: Standing Firm in Christ
Our assurance isn't based on feelings but on Christ's victory and God's Word. Clinging to these truths, we stand firm, knowing nothing can separate us from God's love.
Our confidence as Christians rests on two unshakeable truths: Christ's finished work and God's infallible Word. These two pillars work together to provide unwavering assurance of our salvation.
1. Jesus Did It:
John 19:30: "It is finished." Jesus' final words declare the complete victory over sin and death. He fully satisfied God's righteous demands, securing our forgiveness.
Hebrews 1:3: After purifying us from sin, Jesus ascended to heaven, proving the efficacy and finality of His sacrifice.
Hebrews 10:12: Christ offered one sacrifice for all time, eliminating the need for any further offerings to earn salvation.
2. God Says It:
Exodus 12:13: The Passover lamb's blood foreshadowed Jesus' blood, which shields us from the penalty of sin.
Acts 13:38-39: Through faith in Jesus, we are forgiven and declared righteous, a gift we could never earn.
Safe and Sure:
Christ's finished work is the objective reality of our salvation. God's Word provides the subjective assurance. The Bible anchors us in the storms of life, reminding us of God's promises and unchanging love.
